Christmas

Well, Christmas is coming (isn't it always?) With the economy being the way it is, hubby's bonuses have been cut for the year.

I have been trying to make up as much of the difference as I can with money from ChaCha, but I never feel like it's enough.

We have talked about just getting a large "family" gift for Christmas this year (a Wii) instead of gifts for each child, but I'm not sure how well that will go over. It's frustrating.

What is everyone else doing this year for Christmas in light of the downturn in the economy?

Just wondering...are you making much with ChaCha?

I like the idea of a family gift, maybe with one small gift for each child.

We are spending less on gifts this year and making as many as we can. For the families within the family we are going to be crocheting Christmas ornaments as gifts. You might consider giving some of the foods you've saved from your garden as gifts, or putting together cookie mixes or cake mixes in pretty jars with recipe cards attached, that went over big in our family.

we're doing the Wii thing too! then each will have their stockings and maybe some small gifts. I've picked up several things at garage sales this year that will be their other presents.

We are doing a big gift for the kids this year and a small individual gift. One thing new this year so the gift giving doesn't get out of control is we are taking some of our Christmas money and making a donation to world vision. The kids are going to pick an item out of their catalog that will go to an underpriveled country or child. They are very excited to do this and understand that their are people in this world that need these things more than they need the presents.
